It's essential to maintain communication and detect and localize sounds in your immediate vicinity to ensure your safety on the range or in the field. Enter the Caldwell E-Max low-profile electronic muffs, which provide superior hearing protection for shotgun and action shooters. The muffs boast two microphones that amplify sounds below 85 decibels, helping you hear normal communication, range commands, and environmental sounds. Above 85 decibels, however, the microphones shut off for a split second to protect the shooter's hearing. Add in a volume control--which allows you to amplify environmental sounds from 0 to 20 decibels--and you have complete control over your audio environment while shooting. The muffs also include a fully padded adjustable headband and cushioned ear cups to provide comfort during extended use.
